Travel to Centre Island South is an integral part of the total experience. There are numerous ways to get to Centre Island South either flying or driving; either way, the views are incredible. Flying

​Via International Falls and Float Plane using Rusty Myers Flying Service Ltd.

  • Fly into Falls International Airport (INL) - International Falls, Minnesota via Delta out of Minneapolis or by private or charter plane.
  • Van transportation across US/Canada border to Rusty Myers Flying Service Ltd. (Travel Time: Approx. 30 minutes. Rusty Myers will coordinate van service if requested.)
  • Float plane to Centre Island South (Travel Time: Approx. 30-40 minutes)


Via Warroad, MN and Centre Island South guest shuttle

  • Fly privately or by charter into Warroad International Memorial Airport (RRT) – Warroad, MN
  • Van transportation across US/Canada border to Young’s Bay. (Travel Time: Approx. 75 minutes)
  • CIS shuttle  to Centre Island South (Travel Time: Approx. 20 minutes)


Via Grand Forks International Airport

Grand Forks, ND - (701) 795-6981

  • Fly into GFK via Delta from Minneapolis
  • Rent a car from numerous rental agencies
  • Drive to Roseau, MN - 120 miles continue on through US/CDN border to Young’s Bay - Northwest Angle - 62 miles
  • CIS guest shuttle to Centre Island South (Travel Time: Approx. 20 minutes)


Via Kenora, Ontario, Airport

  • Float plane via Kenora Air to Centre Island South (Travel Time: Approx. 20 minutes)


Via Winnipeg, Manitoba, James Armstrong Richardson International Airport

  • Fly into Winnipeg J.A.R.I. Airport (YWG) - Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada (go through customs at airport)
  • Van to Young’s Bay (Travel Time: Approx. 3 hours)
  • CIS guest shuttle to Centre Island South (Travel Time: Approx. 20 minutes)


Driving

Driving from Warroad, MN:

  • Travel north on #313 and cross the US/Canada border.
  • Continue on #12 to Sprague, Manitoba
  • Turn right on #308 and follow to #525
  • Turn right on #525 and follow sign to the Northwest Angle/Young’s Bay. (Approx. 62 miles)
  • CIS guest shuttle to Centre Island South (Travel Time: Approx. 20 minutes*)


Driving from Roseau, MN:

  • Travel north on #310, cross the US/Canada border.
  • Continue on #12 to Sprague, Manitoba
  • Turn left on #308 and follow to #525
  • Turn right onto #525 and follow signs to the Northwest Angle/Young’s Bay (Approx. 62 miles)
  • CIS guest shuttle to Centre Island South (Travel Time: Approx. 20 minutes*)

Clothing and Essentials

Because most of the items you will need while at Centre Island South are provided by our lodge, packing for the trip is relatively uncomplicated.  We recommend that you check the weather at Lake of the Woods prior to packing.Here is a short list of the essential items you will need during your visit:

  • Daily clothing (zip off pants work well)
  • Full rain suit (pants and top)
  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Sunscreen, insect repellent
  • Fleece jacket or pullover
  • Swim suit (for hot tub or a dip in the lake)
  • Toiletries
  • Hat


In the event you forget to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, toothpaste, shampoo, razors, lotion, sunscreen and insect repellent, etc., our lodge does have a small shop where you can purchase these items.  We also have Centre Island South logoed T-shirts, fishing shirts, fleeces and sweatshirts available for individual or group purchase.

Packages

Our packages are all inclusive. Your Centre Island South package includes…


Lodge accommodations including:

  • Daily housekeeping
  • Spacious bedrooms with full and queen sized beds with private baths.
  • Three daily meals plus snacks and hors d’oeuvres
  • Beverages (while on the lake or at the Lodge)
  • Boats capable of covering large areas of the lake safely and comfortably
  • Our Centre Island South standard is one guide and two anglers per boat, but upon request  up to four anglers.
  • Top-of-the-line rods, reels and baits appropriate for each type of fish: smallmouth, walleye, northern pike and musky, everything you need to enjoy a first-rate fishing experience.
  • Fish cleaning and processing.
  • Wi Fi capability and meeting space for corporate groups.
  • Generous common areas including workout area, game room and hot tub


ITEMS NOT INCLUDED:

  • Fishing license and Ontario Outdoor Card which can be purchased at www.on.wildlifelicense.com or upon arrival at CIS.
  • There may be a charge for abnormal damage to, or loss of tackle and/or lures.
